2016-10-24Lani S Series-aNueNue Solid Top Koa Ukulele

Lani means heaven in the Hawaiian Language. We wanted to showcase the rich life of Hawaii on the rosette of the Lani ukulele, so we laser-etched a series of Hawaiian petroglyphs around the soundhole. Starting clockwise we have: a fisherman, a Hono—or Hawaiian Sea Turtle, a dog, paddling men, a hula dancer with a gourd, a fishbone, the Tree of Life, a mountain goat and finally the Rainbow Man, which is also our logo.

The Lani S series is made with a solid koa top. Koa is one of the most desirable woods used for ukuleles. Koa offers a soft, warm presence and has a nice midrange sound. The braces were forwarded-shifted and redesigned in the Lani S Series for a fuller, more open sound. We added Rosewood binding to give it the trendier look. We then redesigned the bridge giving it a mellower sound than our previous model.

The headstock has an aNueNue classical design with a maple inlay logo. The geared tuners allows for precise tuning. Rosewood is a hard wood, with open wood pores. It is stable wood to work with, and easy adapt to climate changes. 19th frets design allows endless tonal possibilities.

The Lani S is a classic aNueNue ukulele. Its brace construction is strong and easy adapts to climate changes. Rosewood binding was added for better protection to the body.  Lani means heaven in the Hawaiian Language. The Lani S laser-etched a series of Hawaiian petroglyphs around the soundhole. Starting clockwise we have:a fisherman, a Hono—or Hawaiian Sea Turtle, a dog, paddling men, a hula dancer with a gourd, a fishbone, the Tree of Life, a mountain goat and finally the Rainbow Man, which is also our logo.

Lani S used solid  koa for the top which is more durable and flexible than most tone woods. Solid koa wood is harder and offers a warm midrange sound. The tone is very warm and gives more subtle overtones. The smiley-shaped rosewood bridge helps support the string tension. Synthetic Bone is articulate and helps the strings to vibrate and give it a strong resonance.

The aNueNue Clear Water strings are made of clear fluorocarbon from Japan. The tone is rich and clear. The lower tension feeling makes it easy for beginners to play with. aNueNue standard gigbag, uses 1280D cloth with 20mm thickness. There is a front pocket for easy storage and a double-handle strap for easy carrying.
